Welcome to Under Construction! If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re working in construction, thinking about getting into it, or just curious about what goes on behind the scenes. Either way, you’re in the right place.

I started this blog because, after spending years in the industry I’ve realized one thing—no one really has it all figured out. Every day on the job site is different. Some days, things go smoothly; other days, you’re knee-deep in a problem no one saw coming (most days being the former). And no matter how much experience you have, there’s always something new to learn. That’s what makes this field so challenging, frustrating, and, honestly, pretty exciting.

As a young mechanical engineer and project manager, I’ve had my fair share of “what the hell do I do now?” moments. I’ve learned a lot—mostly the hard way—and I know I’m not alone in that. This blog is my way of sharing those experiences, the lessons I’ve picked up, and the things they don’t always teach you in school. From job site challenges to career growth, leadership struggles to real-world problem-solving, I’ll be covering the stuff that actually matters when you’re out there getting things done.

But this isn’t just about me. Construction is a team effort, and I want this blog to feel the same way. I’d love to hear from others in the industry, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in the game for years. Got a wild job site story? A lesson you wish you learned earlier? Let’s talk about it.

So, if you’re looking for a space where we can learn from each other, share real experiences, and maybe even laugh at some of the ridiculous things that happen on-site, stick around. Because the truth is, we’re all under construction.
